Insurance and takaful industry launches COVID-19 Test Fund

KUALA LUMPUR (April 8): The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) and the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) today launched the COVID-19 Test Fund (CTF) aimed at testing more than 26,600 Malaysians.

In a joint statement today, they said the fund would subsidise the costs of the test for policyholders who are most at risk for COVID-19 with a maximum reimbursement of RM300 per test (limited to one reimbursement per individual).

“Policyholders and certificate holders will be able to submit their claims online via the portal at the MyCTF website www.MyCTF.my from Saturday, April 11, 2020, while a nationwide 24/7 toll-free call centre will be operational from Wednesday, April 8, 2020,” they said.

They said the newly-launched MyCTF portal provides information on eligibility, frequently asked questions, a claims guide as well as a downloadable claim form.

The RM8 million CTF has been pledged by the insurance and takaful industry in support of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to conduct more COVID-19 tests for Malaysians, and is available for tests done from March 27, 2020 onward.
